Plein air 10" x 10" round acrylic painting completed live at the Beacon Farmers Market in June 2026.
Hi there! My name is Julia Rooney, and I’m an artist and a writer. I graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design in 2024, where I received my BFA in Illustration under the visual development program. I am working towards entering the animation industry as background artist! In the meantime, I travel around the United States to sell art through my small business, Summer Break Studio. I am passionate about creating images that are full of clutter and storytelling. Turning to the world around me for inspiration, I’m fascinated by forests full of interestingly shaped trees, and funky, weird shaped buildings. I can spend hours sketching my surroundings in my sketchbook for fun. When I’m not drawing, you can find me watching playing Splatoon 3, taking a dance class, or baking cupcakes for my friends!
