This is an iridescent miniature acrylic transfer taken from a larger work, hand-painted. It is characteristic of the artist's interest in dreams, anthropomorphic landscapes, and formal aspects of color and composition to create a painterly world that the viewer can enter.
Allen earned a BFA in painting from Syracuse University. She has worked in the creative departments of advertising agencies and publishing houses. She designed art curriculums for private and public institutions. In 2019, she returned to her full-time painting practice by executing a 12 ft x 60 ft mural in Peekskill. She was awarded a residency in 2020 at Bethany Arts Community. Her solo show ‘Dust & Rainbows’ opened in September 2024 at BAU Gallery in Beacon, New York, where she is represented. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. She maintains her studio in Verplanck, NY.
